Water reservoirs built to meet challenging conditions

Rainbow Reservoirs has the sole manufacturing and sales rights in Africa to the Heritage Tanks range of reservoirs, designed and developed inPerth, Western Australia.

MD Wayne Thompson explains that the reservoirs are suitable for use in a variety of applications including agriculture, forestry, mining, construction, general industry, domestic rainwater harvesting, and emergency water supply storage for fire fighting and hospitals.
Thompson says that the most significant advantages of the HT range of reservoirs are: quick and inexpensive assembly (no concrete slabs are necessary); its modular form, which simplifies transportation and relocation; and its size/storage capacities that range from 52kl to 1,500kl.
“The reservoir walls are made of highly corrosion resistant, Zincalume® alloy-coated structural steel – to a minimum thickness of 1mm – to offer superior strength and a life expectancy of 40 years,” he states. “The wall panels can also be powder coated to produce a wide range of colours or finished in a colourfast material known as Colourbond®.”

Thompson adds that the liners are produced from 75mm thick, solid film, heavy-duty, linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) that meets international foodgrade standards. “This is an inert material of exceptional strength, durability and elasticity, which retains these properties for greatly extended periods, even under the harshest climatic and environmental conditions.”
“A standard and integral feature of each reservoir is its low profile, practical roof which is designed to add strength to the overall structure,” he says.
Technical specifications and certification details in respect of the different components are available on request.
