New technology to purify water with high salt content

Biological water treatment plants are not expensive and may be used to treat raw sewerage, for instance, to drinkable levels or to levels where it is safe to re-introduce into the environment.
/~However, brand new patented technology from South Africa (not utilising reverse osmosis) is now available whereby salts are removed from water previously unfit for irrigation and which alters the properties of those chemicals so removed that it can be used as fertilizer.
The value so obtained normally pays for the entire treatment plant.
The first pilot plant is operating successfully in Limpopo province, South Africa.
