OK Holdings is opening a juice manufacturing plant in the coastal district of Bagamoyo to supply its distillery with processed banana, pineapple, lime and sugarcane products for its fruit spirit brandies, which are sold in Dar-es-Salaam to Tanzanians as well as tourists.
The plant is expected to enter into offtake agreements with local fruit farmers to secure its supply.
Once it is operating efficiently, OK Holdings plans to install bigger capacity machines at its distillery. This will allow it to boost production, and create an opportunity to open up more markets in the country as well as the East African region. – East African Business Week
