This machine has been specially developed for cting of extrudates, pellets, muesli and generally porous products.
The Forberg RVC system has been successfully introduced not only into the traditional fish feed industry but also the petfood manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries. New market segments are constantly showing interest in the RVC.
In the working process of the Forberg Rotating Vacuum Coater (RVC):
Product is filled into the machine through a large pneumatically-operated butterfly valve. The valve is closed and the air is removed from the RVC chamber and from the product pores by means of a highly-efficient vacuum system Under vacuum, the liquid is applied to the particles through carefully-selected nozzles. Mechanically-achieved fluidisation of the product ensures an excellent distribution of the liquid onto all the particles.
After the actual coating, atmospheric air is released into the vacuum chamber and the liquid is pressed into the particles, leaving the product surprisingly dry.
When the total vacuum coating process is over, the RVC is turned 180™  ° and the product is discharged through the same valve as was used to charge the machine.
The rotating principle leaves only the butterfly valve and the shaft sealings as possible leak areas – a very positive point when working with high amounts of liquid on small particles.
The cycle is ended when the coater is rotated back to the charging position.
The vacuum system includes sophisticated filtering and monitoring equipment. The result is a trouble-free system with automatic draining of liquids from the evacuated air.
The rotating movement makes it possible to include a special washing position where CIP (clean-in-place) is easily incorporated.
