Using Faraday’s Principle of Electrical Induction to build up a charge, as the torch is shaken, a magnet glides effortlessly through a metal coil, thereby generating a charge that is stored in a capacitor. During prolonged use it can be shaken for 10-15 seconds every 2 or 3 minutes.
The torch requires no maintenance and the LED bulb will last for thousands of hours and need never be replaced, says Tim Riley, operations manager of importers Caze Concepts.
The Forever Flashlight retails from about $15. Discounts apply for resellers.
