Kenya – fishing and aquaculture opportunities

There are a number of investment opportunities available in Kenya’s fishing sector.
/~*    Marine fish: Kenya produces about 6,000t of marine fish annually. It however has the potential to produce up to 260,000t.
*    Aquaculture: there is a large unexploited potential for aquaculture to supplement the capture of marine resources.
*    Investment in deep sea fishing logistics, including technical support – tuna: currently Kenya has only one tuna factory that produces cooked frozen tuna loins for further processing in EU countries. Investment in a fully-fledged tuna processing factory is therefore needed.
*    Packaging: production of suitable packaging of fish for export.
