Gensets designed for Africa

A global industrial group is selling a new range of no-frills generator sets which are specifically designed for use in Africa.
The sets offer good durability from an uncomplicated power supply and are thus ideal for operation in remote areas.

The new QUB range from Atlas Copco is available in six forms (rated between 25 – 1243kVA) and are built to ISO8528 standards at an ISO9001:1994 certified factory.
The gensets are powered by Deutz air-cooled engines of either four or six cylinder design. The Mecc-Alte alternator has been purpose-designed and features double-dip impregnation for the windings, which provides extra isolation protection for humid conditions. It has a 300% overload capability.
A new control system has been designed for the range offering various modules according to needs, including local- or remote-start facilities. All sets are supplied with heavy-duty, dry-charged 12V DC battery and leads. The generators’ frame is rugged and fitted with anti-vibration mounts and fuel tank. Optional extras include alternato IP23 protection, a battery charger, low-fuel shutdown, an industrial or residential silencer and a manifold hot-spot guard.
Sets of parts for planned maintenance are also available. Atlas Copco manufactures in 14 countries and has sales, service and rental operations in 150 countries.
