It has proven itself as a reliable piece of equipment for small producers, says the manufacturer, Stewart & Brierley of South Africa.
Products being filled are mayonnaise, sauce, pies, meat-in-gravy, marinade, spinach-with-feta, batter, cake mixes and minced garlic.
Due to the large valve opening, high-viscosity products can be easily sucked into the metering cylinder; with simple stroke adjustment the special piston expels an exact volume every cycle.
The machine may be initiated by foot pedal or allowed to run in continuous cycle. It will fill consistently between 10 and 30 units per minute, with a standard cylinder for 0-500ml. Other sizes are available with a variety of filling nozzles.
Machines are currently running in South Africa , Zambia, Kenya, Mozambique, Malawi and Angola.
