NMCP says independent research has shown improvement in beneficiary companies’ results.
NMCP operates in eighty countries and has about 3,000 senior advisers on file. Of these about 1,200 are assigned each year.
NMCP’s advisers are volunteers. They are asked to go on missions on the basis of their experience and knowledge in a wide variety of fields, such as agriculture, industry and trade but also in the fields of health care, management and public sector services. They are independent and receive no financial reward for their services. NMCP pays for travelling expenses and the other costs of missions. Applicants requesting assistance pay for local travel and accommodation costs.
NMCP prefers not to assist start-ups or micro enterprises, as this is not cost effective. Its service is primarily for financially-constrained companies with established organisational infrastructures and lasting growth potential.
Conditions

  • Any local private or State Company, which is independent and works commercially, can apply to NMCP. The condition is that it is not a subsidiary or a foreign or multinational company.
  • Only companies which lack financial resources of their own are eligible to call upon the services of an independent external adviser. There has to be a reasonable relationship between the costs of the mission -e.g. the travelling expenses to the country in question, insurance, administrative costs and the like- and the result to be expected.
  • The company requesting a manager pays the local costs, such as accommodation, cost of living, transport and office facilities.
