With years of experience and knowledge, Divac has been able to design, construct and commission all types of abattoirs, deboning and by-products plants.

Abattoir projects of all degrees of sophistication have been successfully completed – for the slaughter of poultry, pigs, sheep, cattle, game, etc.

Divac is also one of the most experienced companies in the world in the construction of specialised ostrich abattoirs.

Among Divac's recent export abattoir projects in southern African have been Mosstrich (ostriches), Swartland and De Aar (both ostriches and game), BMC Lobatse and Francistown (cattle), Chalmar Beef (cattle), and Ostriswell Swellendam (ostriches and sheep).

It is currently examining abattoir projects in Namibia, Zambia and Nigeria.

The design and specification of all abattoir equipment and steelwork is done in-house using state-of-the-art, computer-aided design equipment.

Design and manufacture ranges from mundane meat hooks to sophisticated fully pneumatically-controlled roll-over stunning pens; also, overhead conveyor systems ranging from static to fully automated push-pull, or continuous systems. Various cold-rooms and chiller rooms, utilising flat or round bar systems, have been designed and installed to the clients' requirements.
