Conventional vegetable oil and biodiesel

Conventional edible oils factory owners in Africa should be aware of the the technology to produce biodiesel from vegetable oils and consider whether, in their local situations, biodiesel would be viable for production. In Europe, major vegetable oil companies have become the leaders in the large-scale commercial production of biodiesel from vegetable oils. Their production is distributed by the major mineral oil companies.
The production process is, after all, familiar to edible vegetable oil processors. In a traditional edible vegetable oil plant, degummed and dried oil is produced.
The only difference in biodiesel processing is transesterification, in which long carbon chains, which result in high viscosity, are broken down to make the biodiesel thinner.
There are three major European companies offering biodiesel production technology for medium and large scale plants.
