$8m invested in new Zambian sugar plantation

Kalungwishi Estate Ltd – the producers of Kasama sugar – have invested more than $8m in a sugar plantation in Zambia’s Northern province.

The company’s general manager, Derrick Sianga, says: “Right now our biggest market is the Copperbelt and Lusaka provinces, but we are turning our focus to Muchinga and Northern provinces.”
Kalungwishi Estate Ltd increased its production levels of 1,300 ton per annum in 1987 to 2,600 tons per year in 2012. – Times of Zambia
